Happy St Patrick's Day - Happy Birthday Kevin

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone and a special Happy Birthday to our future son-in-law, Kevin.

We purchased a gift card and I wanted to wrap it up special. Just the day I was thinking about it, Laura posted a tutorial for creating a little gift box....Perfect timing!!! You can find all the info here on the ScrapMuch? blog.

So when I got home that night, I went right to work. I followed step by step and presto...

I decorated it in a St. Patrick's Day theme for the birthday boy!!

The papers and button are all from my stash. The little clothes pegs are Recollections.
I cut the four leaf clover and heart with a Silhouette cut files.

I also wrapped the gift card inside with the leftover piece of paper.

I think it turned out perfectly!

Thanks Laura Whittaker for the fabulous idea and step by step instructions!!!

I was also inspired by the die cut challenge at Stuck on U Sketches to use die cuts and green.
I used a shamrock, heart and Happy Birthday die cuts.

And by the color spot at Let's Capture Our Memories.

Happy Birthday Kevin!!!!

Labour Day - Stuck?! DT Reveal

Well the middle of March has arrived already and time for the newest Stuck?! Sketches Design Team Reveal.

I am really pleased with my progress of scrapping my Grandson's arrival photos. The layout today features photos just before he arrived....hence the title....

I started out by dipping on old bowl in paint for my circle. Then I splattered some paint in green and blue.

Here are some closeups....

I added some machine stitching to the triangles and then layered up some circle of paper and MME cardstock buttons.

More layering of MME cardstock buttons and buttons from my stash with die cuts.

Paper and die cuts from Pebbles.

Here is Laura's sketch....

I rotated the sketch 90 degrees.

Be sure to play along with for your chance at a wonderful prize from one of the generous sponsors by March 29th.

BIG SPLASH -ScrapMuch? DT Reveal

Well the end of the week has rolled around again....this one seems to have been a long one for me. But T.G.I.F. and that means it is time for ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday Team A Design Team Reveal.
Today I am sharing a wonderful SUMMER layout with you....

Last summer we went on a Family fun day excursion with my husband's work to a local water park. It wasn't the warmest day of the summer, but everyone enjoyed the water just the same. The Grandson's were a little hesitant to stand under the giant bucket with their Dad!!!

Here are some closeups....

I dug into my Jillibean Soup stash for this layout. As many of you must know, I don't too often use pink on my layouts as the boys are my main subject to scrap. But for this one I jumped in and matched the papers to the bright structure of the water feature.
Here I layered up lots of Jillibean die cuts and stickers with a MME brad and Darice twine.

For this cluster I added an American Crafts Flair badge.

I was a little stumped with the large space left on the banner at the bottom of my layout, so I put it aside for a couple of days and then I printed off my journaling and strip cut it to fill in the space. I think it worked out perfectly. It amazes me sometimes how you can think and think and think and not come up with a solution. Put aside for a few days and presto.....an idea comes immediately!!!

Here is Laura's wonderful sketch....

Be sure to link up your creations by the end of March for a chance at a fabulous prize.
OR BETTER YET.....check out the ScrapMuch? Design Team Call. To apply, create a layout using one of the March sketches and follow the instructions on the link above by March 29th.

I was also inspired by the challenge at Frosted Designs Friday Challenge - Think Pink to use mainly pink or the word pink.

Ready For Baby

Today I would like to share another of my layouts from the day my Grandson was born. This layout features the room and how it was ready for a baby to come into the world.

The room was all set with all the necessities!

Here are some closeups....

Once again I used the Pebbles Special Delivery and Sweet Baby Boy papers and die cuts. I also sprinkled around other emellishments that I had in my stash. The wood veneer stars are Studio Calico and the little button brads are Recollections, but I am not sure about the rest.

I was inspired by the sketch 101 at My Scraps & More Sketches. As soon as I saw it yesterday, I knew what photos and embellies I would use.

Here is the sketch....

I was also inspired by the challenge at
Shopping Our Stash Weekly Challenge  SOS #191 Not So Heavy Metal - and the challenge is to use some of your oldest hardware - brads and eyelets.
and the challenge at The Studio Challenges to use items from their list.
I used brads, yellow, vellum (the arrows) and thread.

Thanks for stopping by.....Stay Crafty!!!

Burford Fair Baby Show - Scrapping4funChallenges Guest Designer

I am really excited to share with you today that I have been asked to be a Guest Designer at Scrapping4funChallenges Challenge #37. The challenge is Anything Goes!

Here is the layout I created.....

The photos are from the Burford Fair Baby Show in 2009. My son entered his son in the baby show and Mason won in his age category for the Chubbiest Cheeks!!!! How appropriate!

Here are some closeups.....

Since this is a fall theme and for a fair, I created the rosette (one of my favourite embellies to create) and cut some little banners so that is looks like a first place ribbon. I fussy cut one of the 1st place winning stickers from one of my fair entries to make it look more realistic. Keeping with the fall theme, I added a wood veneer leaf and some burlap.

My title was created with some ScrapMatts alpha banners and October Afternoon alphas.

I punched a tag for my date journalling and a stitched a star clip in place.

Product List - Carta Bella - Rough & Tumble papers, Wood Stick Pin - Little Yellow Bicycle, Burlap - The Paper Studio, wood veneer, twine & Star clip from my stash.

Be sure to check out Scrapping4funChallenges and play along!!!

Stay Crafty!!!
