Autumn Splendor

Here is Fall themed layout #2 as promised....

For the last four years I have taken a photo of Papa and the boys in this pose by a tree. I hadn't gotten around to it this year, so when we were at the Pumpkin Patch, Papa called the boys over to the tree and they struck a pose! They are so good to me!!!

Here are some closeups...

I use the other half of that doily that I told you about in an earlier post.

Funny how different the shading on these photos are. I guess that is what the dull, dark days of Autumn will bring you!

Product List -Echo Park - Oh So Thankful, ZVA Creative Bling & MME Enamel Dots and lots of scraps of fall themed paper. AC Cardstock

I was inspired by the following:

The sketch from Let's Get Sketchy Week 2

and the challenge at Use Your Stuff to use lots of layers!

and the challenge at Picture This (1 photo + cardstock + gold)

Pumpkin Patch

I have a few layouts to share with you that I created just for fun last weekend at a fun Scrappy Retreat. These are all fall themed layouts.
Here is the first one....

This photo was taken the day we went to the "Pumpkin Patch" for a family outing to buy some pumpkins for Halloween. Aiden & Auntie Sara posed with one of the locals!

Here are some closeups...

Product List - Echo Park paper, October Afternoon paper & die cuts, Simple Stories chipboard & Echo Park Enamel dots. The doily die cut my sister enclosed in my birthday card (she always sends some interesting little pieces in her cards). The washi & buttons are from my stash. The cardboard circle piece at the top right was a piece I received in a prize. All the elements came together nicely.

I used this sketch # 92 from Sketch N Scrap for inspiration...

I was also inspired by the following challenges:

Inspiration Challenge from Paper Sweeties. I used the colours, and inspired by the words Harvest, Pumpkins, Leaves, Autumn, Bountiful and Family.

and the challenge at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge which is -

Close your eyes and blindly grab 3 items from your stash and incorporate it into a layout.

My three items were the doily, the cardboard circle and enamel dots.

Thanks for stopping by....stay tuned for my other Fall Themed layouts! Stay Crafty!!!

Bike Parade - ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday DT Reveal

Happy Friday everyone....time for another ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday Design Team Reveal!
And since it is so close to the beginning of December, today's sketch is a double.

Here is my layout....

Every year the village that we live in has a Village wide Garage Sale/Flea Market. We take the opportunity to gather together the family and sell some of our cast offs....and we have a lot of fun doing it. These photos show the kids (and kid at heart) enjoying themselves on some old bikes and trikes. All that are too small for any of them. I took lots of photos of the three of them....I especially like the one of the three of them riding down the sidewalk together!!!

Here are some closeups....

I had fun with the background adding stamping and splatters....it kind of went with the rainy day!!

I cut out lots of sprockets and arrows to layer up here and there.

Product List - Graphic 45 - Mother Goose papers, Embossed cardstock from my stash, Crate Paper chipboard (bike), Smash Clips, Basic Grey office tabs & decorative stickers, MME Enamel Dots, Fancy Pants flair pin, Tim Holtz Distress Ranger Inks (Vintage Photo), Thickers, the washi, twine & circle clips from my stash. The gears & word Parade are Silhouette cut files and the arrows are die cuts.

Here is Laura's fabulous sketch....I really enjoyed playing along with this one.

Be sure to check out what the rest of the ScrapMuch? Design Team created and then get busy and remember to share your creations before the 29th of December for a chance at a prize.

Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy your weekend and Stay Crafty!!!

On The Big Stage

Today I have a really special layout to share with you.

On Thanksgiving Weekend every year our family has volunteered at our local fall fair for the past 26 years. This year while we were waiting for the Demolition Derby to begin the announcer asked for help from people in the stands to help him read off the list of people and companies that had donated money or items to the fair. And if we had someone we wanted to thank, we could do that as well.
Aiden's hand went straight up in the air. The announcer kind of ignored him looking for other volunteers. But as he didn't receive any others, he called Aiden up to help him. Aiden proceeded to read off the names (quite an amazing thing as he had just turned 9 years old). After he had read off the list he was able to then thank the person that he wanted to thank.
He said, "the person that I want to thank works really hard at this demolition derby....his name is Gerry Ross and he is my Papa"!!!!
We were so very, very proud of this little guy for such a job well done!!!!
I think the announcer should be worried for his job....I think someone will be filling his boots very soon!!!

Here are some closeups...

I added some special journalling to the back of this tag!

Product List - Carta Bella - Rough & Tumble paper, Pebbles Walnut Grove paper, Thickers & a tag and twine from my stash.

I was inspired by the sketch and mood board from Let's Get Sketchy Week 1.

I was able to use a lot of the colours from the mood board and the stripes from the chairs.

Well done Aiden!!!

Product List - 3 Bugs in a Rug paper & stickers, AC Cardstock, Momenta alpha and buttons from my stash.

MEMORIES - STUCK?! DT REVEAL

It is the middle of the month and time for the Stuck?! Sketches Design Team Reveal. Once again we are partnering with Scrap It With A Song and this time along it is the Pop song - Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeplin.

Here is my layout...

This layout features our beautiful Dalmation, Miss Molly. We recently lost our sweet girl. She would have been 13 years old in December. She lived a long happy life and brought us joy every day. We miss her every day!

Here are some closeups....

I triple matted the photo to frame Miss Molly and give real importance to the photo.

Product List - AC Cardstock, WeR Memory Keepers papers, Pebbles Chipboard, MME embellies, Recollections tag, Crate Paper & October Afternoon Chipboard, Echo Park stickers and Colorbok Alpha.

Here is Laura's wonderful sketch. I loved this one!!!

I was inspired by the Co-Challenge at Scrap It With A Song - Stairway to Heaven...my inspiration is simply by the song's lyrics...and that Molly recently made that journey.

I was also inspire by the Picture This November 15th Challenge - 1 photo, cardstock and gold (Molly's dog tag).

Be sure to stop by both blogs to see the Design Team's creations and then link yours up by November 29th for a chance at some wonderful prizes.
