SILLY BOYS - Lasting Memories Layout Challenges DT Reveal

Happy Sunday everyone....and it is still hot, hot, hot!!!! This hot weather just doesn't want to break!

It is time for the newest Lasting Memories Layout Challenges Design Team Reveal. We are continuing with the theme of "Childhood Games" for the month of July.

Here is my layout....

This is one of my favourtie photos from when our boys were young. We had gone camping for the weekend. It was very hot and so the boys were busy playing in the sand in our campsite while my husband and I got things set up. Unfortunately the people at the campsite clearly emptied the fire pit ash in the sand, so the boys were covered in black soot from head to toe. It stuck to their hot little bodies like paint. We laughed and laughed when we took a look at them and of course they had to pose for a photo. This is one of those photos that just takes you right back to the moment almost thirty years ago!!!

Here are some closeups....

I added some Tim Holtz black Distress Ink to the background using a splatter stencil.

Product List: Simple Stories background paper, Jillibean Soup papers & stickers, Recollection heart clip, Thickers scrabble type lettering and Fancy Pants stickers.

So if you haven't guessed the Childhood game yet for our reveal....here is an inspiration photo....

Of course it is Scrabble....and I used Scrabble tiles for my title. Be sure to stop over at the LMLC blog and check out the rest of the design team's creation and then link up your before the end of the month for a chance at winning a prize donated by me!

I used the sketch from Scrap Our Stash for my starting point....

I also used the following three items from the stash list....Simple Stories, Twine and Uniball Pen.

Thanks for stopping by! Stay Crafty!!!

Burford Fall Fair

Today's post is a little off season, but a good way to cool things down.

Here is my layout....

This is a layout that I created for our local Burford Fall Fair. These photos are from the 2014 Agricultural Fair.

Here are some closeups...

I added some stamping and Tim Holtz texture paste (with a dab of acrylic forest green paint) to distress the MME Necessities Wood "Veneer" background paper.

Lots of texture and layers with a piece of burlap ribbon, tin pin and ticket from my stash.

I used two different fonts for my title. Alpha stickers and Thickers. Most of the paper that I used were bits and pieces of Simple Stories paper, chipboard and stickers and others papers from my stash.

I was inspired by the inspiration photo below from Archi-scraps and you needed to include wood and distressing.

I was also inspired by the ARTastic Challenge inspiration photo below to use a Country/Rural theme....doesn't get much more country/rural than the Burford Fall Fair!

Bridal Shower Hats

Good Morning....

I have another layout to share from our daughter's Bridal Shower with you today.

It was a couple's shower so both the bride and groom to be got traditional ribbon/bow hats. My "daughter-in-law" worked diligently throughout the gift opening to complete these.

Here are some closeup shots...

Product List - My Mind's Eye paper & Alpha, Thickers and bling and ribbon are from my stash.

The umbrella in the background was used originally for a decoration at the shower. I kept a couple to use on layouts. I think it works wonderfully with The Memory Nest Make It Monday No. 64 sketch in place of the stars. Here is the sketch...

I was also inspired by the challenge at 123 Challenge Blog

And the Linky Party challenge at Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons to use one of their cut files (the umbrella)

WE ARE HERE! Lasting Memories Layout Challenges DT Reveal

Happy Sunday everyone....time for the newest Lasting Memories Layout Challenges Design Team Reveal. We are continuing with the theme for July of "Childhood Games" and this week's inspiration is Snakes & Ladders.

Here is my layout....

These photos are from last year's Canada Day adventure. We went to a small local zoo. The boys always love an adventure, but when the attraction has a brochure, they just have to have one....and when that brochure has a map....Oh My Goodness....we get an update at every point of our adventure. This layout highlights those actions!!!

Here is each side of my layout close up...

And some closeups...

Product List: Echo Park - All About A Boy papers, Imaginisce - Let's Roll - Let's Go paper, Project Life - Becky Higgins card, Thickers & Pinkfresh lettering, assorted arrows from Pinkfresh, Simple Stories & Project Life. The Canada Day pin is from the dollar store (I just removed the clothing pin from the back).

Here is the Lasting Memories Inspiration photo....

I was inspired by the colour scheme and the directions of the snakes and ladders.

Be sure to check out what the rest of the team created over at Lasting Memories Layout Challenges.

I used one of the Scrapbook & Cards Summer 2016 sketches for inspiration.

I also was inspired by the colour palette at The Studio Challenges.

Thanks for stopping by! Stay Crafty!!!

Sun-N-Fun - Lasting Memories Layout Challenges 300th Challenge Blog Hop

Welcome to the Lasting Memories Layout Challenges 300th Challenge Blog Hop. Several of our design team members are playing along and offering up some blog candy, so be sure to stop by each of their blogs for great inspiration and amazing prizes.

Our theme for July is "Childhood Games" . Each week you will make your layout based on the photo/game provided in the inspiration photo. Our first challenge is "Marbles". Here is your inspiration photo...

Now on with the blog hop, you should have arrived here from Tina's blog, but if not, the entire list is at the end of this post.

Here is my layout....

I have a new camera and it has an AWESOME setting that was discovered by someone other than me (Thanks Taylor) and it takes 5 pictures at once and produces the photos with different filters, angles and colouring....it is really cool. So with one click these two photos were taken. It is hard to see in this picture but the closer up shot, you can actually see the water drops on their faces!

I was inspired by the photo with the shape of the marbles and the bright, vibrant colours.

Here are some closeups....

I thought this Thicker's Sun-Kissed title was appropriate as the photo is our Son having fun in the sun with his Son!!!

I cut out several circle pieces in various sizes with punches and layered around the bottom of the photos. Some I used pop dots to add some dimension. The happy face game was in a kit from Boy's Rule Scrapbook kits...it went with the fun theme of this layout!

I added some paint splatters and gems to complete the pool/splash fun of the layout.

Product List: Jillibean Soup goodies - Cool As A Cucumber Soup, Soup Staples - Dark Brown Sugar, Co-ordinating Minestrone paper and lots of other Jillbean paper scraps in the circles. American Crafts/Thickers - Sun-Kissed and Queen & Co. Bubbles.

Now for the fun part for our celebration of Lasting Memories 300th Challenge. I am offering a prize to one lucky person who leaves a comment on my post here. I will draw the winner on July 11, so that gives you lots of time to leave me some love.

And on with the rest of the Blog Hop....be sure to stop by each of the Designers and leave them some love as well...After all...Love is all we need!!!

Thanks so much for hopping along with us, here is the rest of the list....

Have a wonderful Sunday! Stay Crafty!!!
