The Story - ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday Team A DT Reveal

Well it is the last Friday of February and we are sneaking in the ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday Design Team A Reveal for March. Since it is the first layout for March, it is a double!

Here is my layout....

These pictures are from my Mom's 86th birthday party. My sisters & I and our spouses are in the photos!

And each page....

Here are some closeup shots....

I don't know if you can pick up the little crown sticker that I placed on the "O" of the word story. My husband for many years now has given my Mom a crown to wear on special occasions. He buys them at the dollar store and my Mom is alway thrilled. You can see in the pictures that she is wearing several little pink crowns in her hair. So I thought it would be appropriate to place a crown on the title.

I didn't care for the stark white background so I randomly sprayed with two spray stains.

Product List - Bo-Bunny Enchanted Garden & AC Cardstock papers, Tattered Angel Glimmer Mist Chalkboard paints, Tim Holtz  Spray Stain & Distress Inks, Little Yellow Bicycle stick pins, Heidi Swapp - enamel arrow, butterflies, chipboard heart & star, Ruby Rock It - chipboard buttons & twine, Coats & Clark floss, Jolee's Bling crown. The metal butterflies & muslin butterflies and title are from a ScrapMuch? Kit Club kit (as was the Bo-Bunny papers & Ruby Rock It products). The clear bubbles are from my stash.

Here is Laura' beautiful sketch.....

Make sure you play along before the end of March for your chance to win a fabulous prize.

Stay Crafty!

Scrapping Our Stash Monthly Blog Hop

Well it is the last Friday of the month and time for Scrapping Our Stash Monthly Blog Hop.

You should have arrived here from Charity's blog but if not, you can start from the beginning. See the entire list below....have fun!

Today I am sharing the card that I made for my Grandson's 6th birthday....

His favourite colour is orange and Papa calls him and his brother monkeys, so I thought this was a good combination. I used some older Bo-Bunny papers, stickers, alphas and chipboard that I have had for a few years!!! I mounted it on a Recollections card base.

Now hop on over to Bobbi's blog to see what she created!

And here is the entire list in case you got lost! Have fun hopping!!!

Mom & Dad

It is nice to see the sun shining but it sure is deceitful....the temperature is just frigid outside today! That north wind just won't give up! So what better time to share a layout!

I am tackling my Grandson's birth photos one layout at a time. As I had the pleasure of being present while he was born, I was able to snap these shots of the new parents with their precious new arrival.

Here are some detail shots...

I popped up the two photos using some recycled cardboard backing from a sheet of punch outs. It works great as one side has the adhesive from where the punch outs were removed. It is a great alternative to purchasing pop dots.

I cut the arrow out with a die and layered on one of the die cuts. I also tucked in a couple of pieces on Tim Holtz film strip ribbon.

I used Pebbles - Special Delivery paper and die cuts for my layout. Adding some MME enamel dots, Allison Kreft designer paper clip, vinyl Thickers and Tim Holtz tiny tackers.

Here is the sketch from The Memory Nest - Make It Monday No. 34 that I used for inspiration.

Stay warm tonight! Stay Crafty!!!

Family Day - Stuck?! DT Reveal

Happy Family Day Weekend everyone. I hope you are enjoying yours as much as we are!

Today I would like to share with you a layout that I created with an awesome photo that my "Daughter-In-Law" took last year on our snowy Family Day excursion. We all gathered for some downhill fun. The photo was taken from the bottom of the hill while the rest of us were at the top! Awesome shot!

Here is what I created for the Stuck?! Sketches February 15th Design Team Reveal....

 Some detail shots....

I added some bling to the snowflake stickers.

Martha Stewart Sparkle Texture on the background sparkles just like snow!

More stickers and a button with twine.

Product List - Carta Bella - All Bundle Up paper and stickers, AC cardstock, Michaels Rhinestone stickers, Martha Stewart Sparkle Texture Medium and Crafter's Workshop stencil. Button from my stash with some Sullivan's Floss.

Here is Laura's beautiful sketch. I just loved this one!!!

Be sure to play along and link up your creations by the end of February for a chance at one of the prizes that will be randomly drawn from the sponsors.

A Stack of winner choice from DCWV and....

2 spools of winners choice from May Arts Ribbon.

I was also inspired by the challenge at Red Carpet Studios #89 - Winter's Tale and the challenge is to use snowflakes and gesso, white paint or modeling paste.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend with your Family. Stay Crafty!!!

Chubbiest Cheeks - A Layout and a Technique

Today I would like to share a layout I created and a technique that I used.

I am trying to catch up on pictures of my Grandson as an infant. These photos are from when his parents entered him into the Baby Show at the Burford Fair in 2009. He won for his age group for the chubbiest cheeks. I am sure it was an easy pick for the judges!

And here are some closeups....

And now for the technique....

I wanted to add a journaling card to the layout, but didn't like any placement in the layout, so I decided to tuck it in behind a photo.
I used a piece of recycled packaging cut to the size of my photo.

Added American Crafts two sided tape to three of the edges.

And mounted it on the back of the photo and voila a spot for my journaling.

Here is the sketch that I used from Let's Capture Our Memories #109.

I loved using this sketch so that I could dig into my stash of Becky Higgins Project Life cards. I also used Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks and Distress Ink, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, MME wood veneer arrows, Martha Stewart key, Thickers and the clip is from my stash.

I was inspired also by the colour challenge at a new challenge site called Kraft + Plus. Unfortunately they don't allow you to submit to more than one challenge, but I loved their mood board, so I am showing it to you and linking up as my colours are perfect for their challenge.

Thanks for stopping by. It is another frigid day here in Southern Ontario, but spring is just around the corner....stay warm!

Stay Crafty!!!

A Valentine for my Sweetheart!

Here is the final Valentine's Card that I am going to share with you today. I created this card for my husband of 36 years. We tell each other every day that we love each other, but on Valentine's Day we tell each other with a card.

I used a cut file from Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons for my card. The paper is leftover pieces of My Mind's Eye and cardstock for the title. The card base is from Recollections. And I am entering this to Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons for their Anything Goes challenge.

I used the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch #109 as inspiration, but unfortunately I missed the date....I didn't want my Valentine to see the post before he opened his card.....so that's okay!!!

I was inspired by the challenge at S.W.A.T. Drill #49 With Love to create a Valentine's Card.

Product list - Anna Griffin paper, AC Cardstock and a Recollections card base.

Once again....Happy Valentine's Day everyone....tell your sweethearts how much you love them everyday!!!

Stay Crafty!

Third Valentine's Day Card for Today!

Here is my third Valentine's Day card for today....

For this card I used a Recollections Card base and My Mind's Eye paper and stickers and cardstock scraps for the title. I machine stitched around the edge.

I was inspired by the challenge at Cards in Envy: Hearts All a Flutter and the challenge is to use more than two hearts....once again I think that is covered. The little black heart at the top under the ticket is a sticker heart.

I love the quote they have on their site for this.....

"Two hearts one love beating together. I am yours, you are mine.
Two hearts one love always forever standing the test of time." ~ Shania Twain

Happy Valentines's Day!!!

Stay Crafty!!!

Another Valentine's Card

Now that I am sure all my Sweethearts have received their cards, I want to share them here.

Here is my next card....

For this card I used a Recollections Card base and My Mind's Eye paper and scraps of cardstock.

I used the sketch from Lets Capture Our Memories as inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by. Happy Valentine's Day!

Stay Crafty!!!

Happy Valentine's Day

Today I would like to share with you a series of cards that I made for my 'SWEETHEARTS" for Valentine's Day!

First up is the card that I made for my Grandson....

I used a free cut file from Daily Art Hub (they have free files everyday) to create this card.
Other products used are Recollections card base and scraps of AC Cardstock and My Mind's Eye.

He came running to show me that he got his card in the mail yesterday.....that is why I created Valentine's for my Sweethearts.

I was inspired by the challenge at Cards in Envy - Hearts All a Flutter - the challenge is to use more than two hearts!

Stay Crafty!!!

Snow Happy - ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday - Team A - DT Reveal

Happy Friday everyone.....here in Ontario it will be the start of a long Family Day weekend for some. This is a Provincial holiday, so those of us that work for a Federally run company don't have Monday off. I on the other hand, book a day off and we always plan something fun with our family that can join along.

Last year we went GT-ing at a local golf course. My layout for the ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday Team A Design Team Reveal features one of the photos I took that day.

And some detail shots....

I added some bling to the snowflakes printed on the background paper as well as my punched snowflakes.

I coloured the plain chipboard swirls with Painters Opaque Paint Marker, so that the matched the colouring.

I fussy cut the scrabble tiles from one of the papers and paired it up with glitter Thickers for my title.

I also fussy cut the heart from one of the papers.

When I first saw Laura's sketch, I was baffled by the swirls and what I was going to incorporate, but I am really happy with the chipboard swirls and snowflakes. I think they capture the sketch well.

Products - Bo Bunny - Altitude Paper, Thickers, Darice Twine, Maya Road Clip, Fab Scraps - Card Swirls, Painters Opaque Paint Marker, ArtC Metal Snowflakes and bling from K & Co. and Studio 112. The transparent arrows are from my stash.

Be sure to play along with one or all of the sketches by the end of February for a chance at a fabulous prize.

I was also inspired by the challenge at Scrap It Girl February Recipe to use blue, arrows and numbers (the numbers are on the scrabble tiles).

Have a wonderful Family Day Weekend! Stay Crafty!!!
