Merry Christmas - Advent Calendar

Today I would like to share with you an Advent Calendar that I created this past fall.

Here it is on display in our living room!

This was a very time consuming project but I loved every moment (well maybe not the sanding part) that I put into it. This Kaisercraft Advent Calendar came as a kit....a flat kit. Every piece needed to be broken apart and assembled. First the pressed wood pieces were taken apart, assembled & glued (this is where the sanding was involved).
Then the little card board boxes....one by one. One Sunday morning I set out to do this when our Grandsons were over for a "sleepover". As I assembled the boxes, Mason was happy to glue things together beside me. A couple of weeks later when they were over for another "sleepover", again on the Sunday morning, I started covering the little boxes completely as I didn't like just the front covered. Again Mason was happy to craft beside me asking is every little scrap that I cut off,- can I have that piece? And he glued and glued his creation together. It's too bad I didn't take pictures of his creations!

I used many scrap pieces of paper from many different collections....MME, Teresa Collins, Bo Bunny to name a few.

After all the boxes were assembled and placed in the calendar, so that no two papers were touching, I covered the outside, the back and the inner shadow box portion!

I then decorated each little box with embellies and numbers. I chose to have the numbers consecutively in a clockwise fashion.

Here is a list of embellies - Dear Lizzy dimensional stickers, Me & My Big Ideas stickers, K & Company Pillow Stickers, Forever In Time stickers, Veneer trees by Studio Calico. The numbers are Heidi Swapp, Thickers and Making Memories.

I then added a photo of our Grandsons from a few years ago to the shadow box. I plan to change up the photo as the years pass.....maybe there will be more grandbabies in the future to add to the Advent Calendar!

I filled the boxes with some yummy chocolate goodies!

I am submitting this to the following challenges....
