Giraffe Baby Quilt

I have a different craft to share with you today....my other passion....quilting.
I made a quilt for a young couple who have been trying for years to have a baby. I can't imagine the anguish that would come from not being able to conceive a child. So I made them a quilt to celebrate their little one that is arriving in April.

Here are my steps from beginning to end! First the fabrics and the pattern. I saw this fabric and pattern on a site and fell in love with it. I couldn't find it anywhere locally, so I ordered a jelly roll and a layer cake from ebay. My friend ordered the yardage for the back from another site.

The little giraffes are just adorable!

Here are my cut pieces....

And then the sewing begins....

Strip piecing ready to iron seams open....

The squares are complete....

Aren't they adorable?

Ready to add the plain squares....

And the finished quilt....

A very talented lady did the machine quilting for me. I just love how it turned out!

My husband gave the quilt to the expectant father and he and the mommy to be were very happy with the gift.

Be sure to always count your blessings!

Have a craft filled day!
