Happy Winner - Guest Designer spot for The Memory Nest

I have great news to share for this first day of December. I was asked to be a Guest Designer for The Memory Nest Make it Monday.

The first challenge for December at The Memory Nest - Make it Monday is a sketch, and we were asked to use stamping on the background.

Here is my layout.....

I choose this picture of my daughter last year at a ScrapMuch? retreat when she was the lucky winner of a Silhouette Portrait!!!! Hence the title - Happy Winner!

And here are some closeups....I stamped my background with a chevron stamp from Recollections and also a Stampin' Up Circle stamp both using Tim Holtz ink.

The title was created with a scrap metal word by Petals & Possiblities and red Thickers.

I added some MME wood hearts and metallic dots.

The papers I used are MME - All is Bright. I layered up under the photo and added a piece of Craft Smith Holiday Burlap and ribbon by The Ribbon Boutique around the photo and the banner at the top.

Here is the fabulous sketch from The Memory Nest......

Be sure to link up your projects for a chance at a wonderful prize or if you are really lucky you will be asked to be a Guest Designer like I was.

I would like to thank Leslie for this AWESOME opportunity!!!

Stay tuned later this month as I have more to share with you as a Guest Designer at The Memory Nest.

I was also inspired by the new challenge blog Picture This Challenges and the challenge is

Christmas Morning - Stuck?! December 1st - DT Reveal

Happy December everyone....the most wonderful time of the year! And it is time for the Stuck?! Sketches Design Team reveal.

I choose photos from last year on Christmas Morning. Our children are all grown and live on their own. We had the pleasure of my Mom sleeping over, so we over filled her stocking with goodies!

Here is my layout.....

And some closeups....

I used the "Christmas" banner of the MME - Winter Wonderland paper and stickers as part of my title. Some Fancy Pants alphas and paper twine from my stash finish it off.

Added Studio Calico wood veneer tree and a clip from Paper Studio

A little American Crafts red twine and some MME coordinating chipboard buttons.
I also used AC Cardstock for the background and added Doodlebug ribbon along the bottom of my photos.

I had a hard time placing the photos on this layout...it didn't come together easy for me. Then I switched the tree (the taller photo) to the other side and presto....it all came together after that!

Here is Laura's wonderful sketch....

Be sure to link up your creations by the end of the month for a chance at some fabulous prizes from the sponsors!

Christmas Day - ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday DT Reveal

Well we are just around the corner to the beginning of a new month....which means it is time for the ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday Design Team reveal of a double layout.

The new sketch is just perfect for scrapping lots of photos in one layout!!! Perfect for a family gathering at Christmas.

Here is my layout....

I managed to include a photo of everyone who attended Christmas at our home last year!
We are truly blessed!!!

And here is each page close up...

My DH didn't care for his photo when I showed him my layout, but that's what happens when you are a ham for the camera.....I wouldn't have him any other way!

My Mom plays Santa every year and hands out the gifts!

And here are some of the squares close up.....

I stitched around the squares that didn't have photos...just like stitching in the ditch on a quilt. That is what this sketch screamed to the quilter in me.

Lots of matching die cuts with this fabulous Crate Paper line.

Some Studio Calico wood veneer trees.

And what's a cold winter's day with out a cup of hot cocoa?

And here is Laura's fabulous sketch.....

Background paper - Simple Stories, Thickers & AC Twine.

Be sure to play along and link up your layouts before the 29th of December for a chance at a fabulous prize.

Lil' Pumpkin -ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday Team A - DT Reveal

The middle of the month has rolled around already.....time for the ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday Team A Design Team Reveal.

Here is my layout.....

Every year I take pictures of Mason with the pumpkins on display at the Fair. He is so darned sweet, he actually just climbed up on the display and waited for his picture to be taken!

I just loved this sketch....it came together so easily and quickly! I always enjoy circle shapes on a layout.

I stiched around the edge of the layout with my sewing machine and stamped the circles with Tim Holtz ink - Black Soot and Stampin Up stamp.

Added a few buttons from my stash with Darice twine tied in different ways.

I used AC Cardstock, Carta Bella papers and embellies, October Afternoon Pillow Puff stickers.

Here is Laura's fabulous sketch.

Be sure to play along and link up your layouts by the end of November for a chance at a wonderful prize.

Good Times - 123 Challenge Blog - Guest Designer

Happy Monday everyone....I am thrilled to announce that I was chosen to be a Guest Designer at the 123 Challenge Blog for a layout that I created for their August Challenge.

The Challenge is to use the colour copper, the word "good" and stars. I had just taken some fun fall leaf pictures, so I used one "good" shot for my layout.

I used Carta Bella - A Perfect Autumn papers and AC cardstock as my base.

I did some masking with The Crafter's Workshop stencil and Tim Holtz Distress Spray Stain in Rusty Hinge and Antiqued Bronze to capture the copper colour. I then used Tim Holtz Star stencil and medium and layered up the stars. Once it dried the medium took on the copper colour from behind. I  love this effect. The copper clips were from my stash and I attached them with Tim Holtz Tiny Tackers.

I added a few little star brads from my stash to add some dimension.

I layered up some little banners adding an October Afternoon Pillow Puff. The copper eyelets are from my "daughter-in-laws" stash. Thanks Ash!

The Good Times title finishes it off with Thickers.

A little strip of fall coloured washi tape from my stash.

Here is the Challenge board over at 123 Challenge Blog.

I would like to express my thanks to the ladies at 123 Challenge Blog for this opportunity!!!
