I have a different kind of a post to share today....it is a little bit of a step by step.
I was interested in joining in on a challenge at
Exhaust Your Excess - EYE #4 I'd like to buy a Vowel. The challenge is to use up all those bits and pieces of different lettering. So I thought I would give it a try.
First I gathered up my lettering.....
Then I arranged them on my background paper for the layout I wanted to create....
Next I applied some craft paint...
In different layers. I applied a couple of coats of the beige with a foam brush to cover up the variety of colourful lettering.
Next I dabbed yellow, blue & green on randomly with a baby wipe.
I also added some Adirondak Brights - Alcohol Ink in Citrus & Sailboat Blue randomly.
Then I finished the rest of my layout once I had my background work completed.
This picture was taken after the boy's swimming lessons at the Wayne Gretzky Centre in Brantford, Ontario. Last fall these beautiful lifesize bronze statues were unveiled with the grand reopening of the renovated centre. Aren't they fabulous! Life size statues of Walter, Wayne (as a young boy) and Phylis Gretzky. What a fabulous memorial to Brantford's most famous family.
Here are some closeups of the details...
I was also inspired by the challenge at
Paper Issues which is called Mix Tape, and the challenge is to use a mix of different products.
Here is my product list:
Assorted Thickers lettering, Colorblok Alphabet Stickers, AC Cardstock, Authentique - Curiosity Collection, Adirondak Brights Alcohol Ink, Craft Smart Acrylic Paint, Basic Grey Library Pockets, Tickets from K & Company, Wood Cameras from Maya Road, Wood Veneer by Studio Calico, Buttons from MME and Stick Pin from Little Yellow Bicycle.
Check out these blogs to join in on the fun!
Stay craftly!
