Explore The Rideau

Good afternoon everyone, it is another beautiful summer day. Today I would like to share another layout from our trip to Ottawa last summer.

I created a double layout to feature many photos at the Rideau Canal.

Here is each side....

And some closeups...

I kept the embellishing to a minimum so that the photos are the stars of the layout.

I added my journalling to the postcard tab at the bottom.

Product List: Making Memories papers, MME chipboard, DCWV Air Mail envelope, Hemptique hemp cord, Heidi Swapp epoxy title and stickers, Carta Bella alpha & The Paper Studio tag, the gear and brads are from my stash.

I was inspired by the double sketch from Stick It Down.

My son took this photo on our way down to the fairgrounds to join in on the Canada 150 celebrations. I just loved the photo and had to scrap it right away.

The Canada 150 symbol is from a clothing tag.

The Canada 150 above is from a coffee shop cup wrap.

Product List: Echo Park - A Boy's Life paper, Bella - chipboard button, MME - Jubilee epoxy arrow & sticker, Mambi sticker (title), Basic Grey - Spice Market chipboard & the washi and button are from my stash.

Project Life Card

Just stopping by with a quick post to share a Project Life Style Card with you.

Sorry for the glare on the photo...it was extremely sunny and I couldn't get a decent photo.

I made this with a photo from our trip to Ottawa last summer...on the only rainy weekend of the summer.

I was inspired by sketch #77 from Sketches In Thyme Project Life Style

Celebrate Canada 150 - Lasting Memories Layout Challenges DT Reveal

Good Sunday Morning everyone! It is time for the newest Lasting Memories Layout Challenges Design Team Reveal. We are continuing with the theme of Summer Adventures and this week's challenge is Show us your 4th of July adventure! If you didn't have an adventurous American holiday, or are not American (like me) show some red, white and blue or some sparkle in your layout.

Since I am Canadian and our fabulous country just celebrated it's 150th birthday, I choose to do a layout of our Canada Day Adventures last weekend. Here is my layout....

We took these photos before going down the street to the Fairgrounds for a wonderful Family Day Canada Day 150 celebration!!!

Here are some closeups....

I used an exacto knife and carefully cut around the center leaf so that is was the star of my layout.

I added my "blue" into my title.

Product List - Background paper - Canada Companion #14324, Jillibean Soup alpha,  October Afternoon alpha, Thickers, Pink Paislee Artisan Elements, Fancy Pants puffy stickers, Thickers chipboard, Basic Grey office tab and Tim Holtz tiny attachers.

I used this amazing sketch from Creative Scrapbooker Magazine Sketchy Challenge that was just perfect with it's 6 spots for photos. Just what I needed after taking so many photos while we celebrated the Best Country in the World!!!

Be sure to stop by the Lasting Memories Blog to check out the rest of the teams designs and be sure to link yours up before the end of July.

Fishing Adventure - Lasting Memories Layout Challenges DT Reveal

Good Morning everyone, we are still enjoying our Canada Day Long Weekend. As it is a new month it is time for a new theme at Lasting Memories. The theme for July is Summer Adventures. Today's challenge is to document an outdoor adventure OR you may use outdoor adventure themes in your layout (think tents, stars, mountains, roads/road signs, water sorts, bike gear, etc.)

Here is my layout...

These photos are from last summer from our vacation at Beachwood Resort.

Here are some closeups...

I used a free cut file from Get Silvered for my background. The circles are a perfect size for photos.

Then I added some leftover cardstock and stickers that went with the fishing theme.

Product List: AC Cardstock, Lawn Fawn flair, Carta Bella paper & stickers, and
Mambi stickers.

Be sure to stop by the Lasting Memories Blog to check out the rest of the design team's creations. You have until the end of the month to play along.

I was also inspired by the challenge at The Studio Challenges - Not to be squared - create a layout without using squares or rectangles.

Our Home And Native Land - CANADA 150 - Stuck?! Sketches DT Reveal

Well July 1st is here and it is time to celebrate Canada's 150th Birthday! We are in the middle of the festivities in our community. Last night we attended an amazing Fireworks show in our little village. A wonderful way to start the celebrations!!! With that in mind it is time for the July 1st Stuck?! Sketches DT Reveal.

Here is my layout....

We are always proud to fly out beautiful Canadian flag but for Canada 150 a special flag was issued. My husband couldn't wait to have one and proudly display it for Canada's 150 Birthday.

Here are some closeups...

I created my own cut file for my title using two different fonts. I wanted a bold statement with my title for Canada 150.

My clusters were created all with leftover papers that match the flag colours perfectly!!!

And now for Laura's amazing sketch...

Be sure to stop by the Stuck?! Sketches Blog and check out the rest of the design team's creations. You have until the 27th of July to play along.
