SWEET! - Lasting Memories Layout Challenges DT Reveal

Welcome back to another Lasting Memories Layout Challenges DT Reveal for the month of September. I am hosting the challenges this month and I am challenging everyone to bust out some of the stash we all have been hoarding by using the following products or techniques. Today’s challenge is to create a layout with a one word title starting with F, M or S and use at least three different patterned papers.

Here is my layout…

I choose the word SWEET!  for my one word title! It was easy to choose the word Sweet with Papa and Grandson! I secretly took these photos from my scrapping room while these two spent time together watching cartoons!

I used Pinkfresh Studio Some Days paper on an AC Cardstock background. I used a Stamperia stencil with Tim Holtz Iced Spruce Distress Ink to add some detail to my background. Embellishments from Pinkfresh Studios, 49 and Market and Simple Stories. I even got out my ancient Epiphany Crafts , self adhesive buttons and made matching buttons and a heart! It’s been a long time since anything has been “Epiphanied”! The sequences are from my stash.

OH WHAT A DAY - Lasting Memories Layout Challenges DT Reveal

Welcome back to another Lasting Memories Layout Challenges DT Reveal for the month of September. I am hosting the challenges this month and I am challenging everyone to bust out some of the stash we all have been hoarding by using the following products or techniques. Create a layout with lots and lots of layering and use brads, buttons or bling or even better all three if you can.

Here is my layout…

I used all three on my layout - brads, button and some really old bling from Basic Grey called Bling it On which is a combo pack of rub-ons and rhinestone bling. I think the rub-ons mimicked the dandelion that my grandson is holding! Perfect for the challenge! I layered up lots of old Jillibean Soup papers. On my background I also added some stencilling with texture paste. The chipboard pieces are from MME and Heidi Swapp.

Birthday Party - Lasting Memories Layout Challenges DT Reveal

Welcome back to another Lasting Memories Layout Challenges DT Reveal for the month of September. I am hosting the challenges this month and I am challenging everyone to bust out some of the stash we all have been hoarding by using the following products or techniques. Today is my birthday, so let's do a birthday themed challenge. Create a layout with tags and numbers on it and use at least three different patterned papers. Make it a birthday layout if you like!

Here is my layout…

I created a layout for my 43rd birthday which was many moons ago…Lol! I used up some old Bella Blvd cardstock and chipboard, as well as a couple of Martha Stewart paper borders which has the year 2009 on it!!! For the other challenge items, I made a couple of tags at the top of my layout and added the number 43 and the year 2002 for the number portion of the challenge! I fussy cut the giraffe and presents and popped them up with foam tape. The hearts and bow at the top are Custom Leatherette Stickers from Citrus Twist Kits.

Captured in Time - Lasting Memories Layout Challenges DT Reveal

Welcome to September friends, it’s hard to believe summer is coming to an end here in Canada! It’s time for the latest Lasting Memories Layout Challenges DT Reveal! I am hosting the challenges for September and the theme is “Stash Busting” - lets get using up our stash! Today’s challenge is to create a layout using a weaving technique!

Here is my layout…

When I hear paper weaving it always makes me think “Heritage”! It is also a great way to use up scraps!

I created a layout of my Maternal Grandmother’s younger brother. My Grandma and her brother were British Home Children sent to Canada at a young age from their homeland of Scotland. Her brother was only 7 years old at intact and was sent to Canada at the age of 8 to work on farms. It was a very sad life for a lot of these children. My Grandma and her brother saw each other a few times as children and then there was no word of where John ended up. This story makes me very sad. I’d love to hear from anyone who has a similar background!
