Grade 8 Grad - Lasting Memories Layout Challenges DT Reveal

Good morning friends! It is time for the latest challenge from Lasting Memories Layout Challenges . We are continuing with Art inspired challenges from DT member Lisa who is an art teacher, she really wanted to use some artwork as inspiration for the month of November. In August, she visited the University of Iowa Children's Hospital with her daughter and grandson. She was very excited about the artwork that is on display there, so she has chosen 4 artists whose works gave her scrapbooking ideas. Be inspired by the artists' use of colour, pattern, icons, and the like. Pull whatever inspires you out and use it in your layout for the week.

This week’s challenge is to be inspired by Amy Genser's mixed media work that uses rolled paper pieces (like quilling) and paint, entitled "Urchin Underbelly."

Here is my layout…

I was inspired by the variety of the colour blue with black accents! Perfect for my Grandson’s graduation photo!

Cool Stuff - Lasting Memories Layout Challenges DT Reveal

Good morning friends. It's time for the lastest Lasting Memories Layout Challenges DT Reveal. We are continuing with design team member Lisa’s challenges for the month of November. Lisa recently visited the University of Iowa Children's Hospital and was very excited about the artwork that is on display there, so she has chosen 4 artists whose works give her scrapbooking ideas. Be inspired by the artists' use of colour, pattern, icons, and the like. Pull whatever inspires you out and use it in your layout for the week.

This week’s challenge is to be inspired by Alexandra Ackerman's mixed media work using watercolour, coloured pencil and gouache, entitled "Hovering Orbs on a Blue Grid."

Here is my layout…

When I saw this piece of artwork, I immediately thought of a stencil that I have that has similar orb like shapes. I chose a variety of Distress Oxide inks and started to play. The mixed media made a great background for my layout.
